The Pulse of the Divine: A Deep Tantric Pilgrimage | Kolkata | Tarapith | Assam | 21–28 June 2026

Join IYogaa for an extraordinary eight-day immersion into the heart of living Tantra. Timed to coincide with the Summer Solstice and the legendary Ambubachi Mela, this retreat is a journey into the seat of primordial power. We move through the “Gateway of Tantra” to the fierce alchemical fires of Bengal, concluding at the most sacred site of the Divine Feminine in Assam.

This is not a sightseeing tour; it is a structured descent into the authority of the self, guided by the ancient rhythms of the land and the celestial alignment of a Universal Year 1.

Guided by Dr. Nitasha Buldeo

This pilgrimage is curated and led by Dr. Nitasha Buldeo, a research scientist specializing in Interoceptive Neuroscience and a senior Yoga teacher with over 25 years of experience.

Dr. Buldeo’s pioneering research focuses on Interoception—the “sixth sense” that allows us to perceive the internal state of our bodies. While traditional science has long focused on how we see the world, Dr. Buldeo’s work explores how we feel the world from the inside out. By understanding the communication between the heart, gut, and brain, she teaches practitioners how to master their nervous systems and reclaim their internal authority.

During this retreat, Dr. Buldeo bridges the gap between ancient esoteric Tantra and modern human performance. Under her guidance, you will use the electric environment of the Ambubachi Mela and the vibrational resonance of the Baul culture to sharpen your interoceptive awareness, turning your body into a precision instrument for spiritual and physical mastery.

The Itinerary: A Path of Initiation

* June 21 | Arrival in Kolkata (3 Energy): We gather at the gateway during the Summer Solstice. A twilight visit to Kalighat marks our formal entry into the mandala, using the peak solar light to anchor our interoceptive baseline.
* June 22–23 | Tarapith (The Alchemical Fire): In the presence of the Mahasmashana, we practice “Bio-Alchemical” transformation—learning to regulate the nervous system’s response to intense environments.
* June 23–24 | The Baul Immersion: We sit with Parvathy Baul. Here, we explore the “Body as the Temple” through sound and rhythm, utilizing Dr. Buldeo’s research on the Vagus Nerve to achieve states of profound somatic flow.
* June 25 | The Mystic Void (7 Energy): In Assam, while the temple is closed, we enter a state of sensory withdrawal. This is a deep dive into the “Insular Cortex”—the part of the brain responsible for interoception—accessing the Goddess in the silence.
* June 26 | The Reopening (8 Energy): As the temple doors open on a day of Manifested Power, we integrate our internal shifts with the raw energy of the earth, receiving the sacred Angabastra.
* June 27 | Integration & Return: A night of reflection in a stunning heritage residence in Kolkata, focused on hard-wiring these new neural pathways.
* June 28 | Departure (1 Energy): We conclude on a “Double 1” day, departing as the pioneers of our own lives.

What to Expect

The Science of the Sacred

This retreat is grounded in Dr. Buldeo’s research. You can expect:

* Interoceptive Drills: Daily practices to increase your “Interoceptive Accuracy,” allowing you to read your body’s signals with sovereign clarity.

* Vagal Toning: Using the unique acoustics of historical temples and Baul music to optimize your heart-rate variability (HRV).

* Neuro-Somatic Integration: A structured approach to ensuring that the spiritual “highs” of the retreat are translated into lasting physiological changes.

The Living Spaces

We stay in heritage Zamindari estates—sovereign homes that provide a secure, high-ceilinged container for our deep work. These residences are chosen for their energetic “weight” and historical authority, aligning with the IYogaa aesthetic of power and grace.

Food Culture

At IYogaa, nutrition is a biological ritual. Our menu is designed to support gut-brain health, featuring:

* Prebiotic-Rich Temple Foods: To support the “second brain” (the enteric nervous system).

* High-Protein, Clean Sustenance: Traditional Bengali flavors curated to maintain the physical energy required for intense spiritual work.
